Gardasil Under Fire Again! All We Want Is The Truth!

Gardasil Under Fire Again! All We Want Is The Truth!

When we accept death and maiming in the name of medicine it is the same as the acceptance of the deaths of innocents in war as collateral damage; unacceptable!

Taking a direct approach with the FDA is all the rage these days. For instance, aggrieved investors recently created an online petition to implore the FDA to investigate staffers for their input into a recent panel meeting for the Arena Pharmaceutical diet pill (see this). And now several parents, who formed a non-profit to protest widespread use of Merck’s Gardasil vaccine for HPV, have written the agency to demand that approval be rescinded.

In its letter, SANE Vax argues that the FDA permitted Merck to use “an inappropriate primary endpoint and unreliable HPV genotyping methods” evaluating efficacy. You can read the letter here to learn more, but basically the group maintains that less serious cervical lesions were permitted as an endpoint and they cite National Cancer Institute reports to bolster their contention this was an erroneous decision.

“The FDA has approved a vaccine which is being marketed as a cancer vaccine, when in fact it has only been proven to prevent ‘not a true biologic entity,’ in the words of the NCI, the inventor of the current HPV vaccine technology and the co-developer of Gardasil,” SANE Vax writes to FDA commish Margaret Hamburg. “The situation is exacerbated because the FDA and the NCI have not attempted to encourage development of a reliable HPV genotyping method for post-license monitoring of the effects of Gardasil vaccination on the epidemiology of HPV infections in the American population.”

In a separate letter to Jack Stapleton, who chairs the FDA Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, over the same concerns in advance of a meeting next month in which the panel will review Merck’s request to have Gardasil approved to prevent anal dysplasia and anal cancer (see this).
This is only the latest effort in a campaign by SANE Vax and a related group called TruthAboutGardasil to unravel Gardasil approval. Gardasil was endorsed for females aged 9 to 26 to prevent four strains of HPV, two of which are found in about 70 percent of all women with cervical cancer. The vaccine has been controversial, though, because Merck lobbied states surreptiously for mandatory vaccination; the price tag is high; some parents remain skittsh that the vaccine offers a green light for teenage sex and, in particular, side effect concerns continue to generate publicity.

Public health officials, however, have strongly endorsed Gardasil and a rival vaccine, GlaxoSmithKline’s Cervarix, as safe and important public health tools. Nonetheless, the FDA earlier this year postponed a decision to broaden Gardasil usage to women between the ages of 27 and 45 until Merck provides more data (look here). Meanwhile, vaccination rates continue to rise among teenage girls, according to a recent US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey (see this).

Gardasil's Tragic Toll

Exposed!

Newly uncovered documents reveal that the world's most tragic and dangerous public health experiment has claimed more young victims.

Gardasil, Merck's horrifically bad HPV vaccine being pushed on little girls around the world, has been linked to 16 more deaths -- including four suicides -- and thousands of other terrifying side effects.

Even more outrageous, the feds have been busy trying to cover it up -- because instead of immediately warning the public and ending the program, they tried to hide all the damning evidence.

The FDA only came clean when forced to by the law after Judicial Watch filed a demand for the data under the Freedom of Information Act.

New numbers reveal more Gardasil deaths

And in addition to the dozens of deaths already linked to this vaccine, FDA documents obtained by Judicial Watch revealed 16 new deaths between May 2009 and last month.

That's one young life needlessly cut short every month.

The FDA papers also revealed 3,589 new cases of adverse events after Gardasil vaccinations, including 789 "serious" cases, 213 that led to permanent disability, and 25 diagnoses of the debilitating and paralyzing nervous system disorder Guillain-Barre Syndrome.

And for what? For nothing!

Despite its poorly chosen nickname, all this "cervical cancer vaccine" really offers is very limited protection from some of the strains of HPV that can cause the disease -- and researchers say even that can wear off in just a few years.

It's a clear case of "all risk and no benefit," but that hasn't stopped Big Pharma from pushing to have Gardasil added to the list of required vaccinations for school.

Virginia has even made it a law. But if you happen to live in that state, don't be intimidated by these bully tactics: You can spare your own daughter by simply refusing to let them stick her with this poison.

Just stick to your guns. One parent named in the new report said she initially declined the vaccination for her daughter, but was talked into it by the doctor.

Five weeks later, her 13-year-old girl was dead.

One more note: I'm old enough to remember when Pravda, the old Soviet news agency, was the Kremlin's comically relentless propaganda wing. Today, the Pravda Web site has better reporting on Gardasil than you'll find in most Western newspapers, with one recent article pointing out all the vaccine's ugly flaws and accusing Merck of ignoring its own research.

I still don't trust the Russians on most issues, but it just goes to show how our own pro-Big Pharma media has become a propaganda machine of its own.

At 5pm EST Friday 22nd October 2010 Wikileaks Released The Largest Classified Military Leak In History.

The 391,832 reports ('The Iraq War Logs'), document the war and occupation in Iraq, from 1st January 2004 to 31st December 2009 (except for the months of May 2004 and March 2009) as told by soldiers in the United States Army. Each is a 'SIGACT' or Significant Action in the war. They detail events as seen and heard by the US military troops on the ground in Iraq and are the first real glimpse into the secret history of the war that the United States government has been privy to throughout.

The reports detail 109,032 deaths in Iraq, comprised of 66,081 'civilians'; 23,984 'enemy' (those labeled as insurgents); 15,196 'host nation' (Iraqi government forces) and 3,771 'friendly' (coalition forces). The majority of the deaths (66,000, over 60%) of these are civilian deaths. That is 31 civilians dying every day during the six year period. For comparison, the 'Afghan War Diaries', previously released by WikiLeaks, covering the same period, detail the deaths of some 20,000 people. Iraq during the same period, was five times as lethal with equivalent population size.

Wikileaks' leak of its approximately 400,000 Iraq military field reports to major media outlets has turned into a torrent today. Like the whistle-blower outfit's release of its91,000 Afghanistan war documents, it gave the MSM a chance to look, and interpret, before releasing any information to the public.

Reports on, and interpretations of, the documents were published in the New York Times, the Guardian, Der Spiegel, Al Jazeera and Le Monde.

Leaked documents on Iraq war contain thousands of allegations of abuse, but a Pentagon order told troops to ignore them.

Massive leak reveals serial detainee abuse • 15,000 unknown civilian deaths in war

by Nick Davies, Jonathan Steele and David Leigh
A grim picture of the US and Britain's legacy in Iraq has been revealed in a massive leak of American military documents that detail torture, summary executions and war crimes.
Insurgent suspects are led away by US forces. Some of those held in Iraqi custody suffered appalling abuse, the war logs reveal. (Photograph: Sean Smith for the Guardian)
Almost 400,000 secret US army field reports have been passed to the Guardian and a number of other international media organizations via the whistle blowing website WikiLeaks.
The electronic archive is believed to emanate from the same dissident US army intelligence analyst who earlier this year is alleged to have leaked a smaller tranche of 90,000 logs chronicling bloody encounters and civilian killings in the Afghan war.
The new logs detail how:

• US authorities failed to investigate hundreds of reports of abuse, torture, rape and even murder by Iraqi police and soldiers whose conduct appears to be systematic and normally unpunished.

• A US helicopter gunship involved in a notorious Baghdad incident had previously killed Iraqi insurgents after they tried to surrender.

• More than 15,000 civilians died in previously unknown incidents. US and UK officials have insisted that no official record of civilian casualties exists but the logs record 66,081 non-combatant deaths out of a total of 109,000 fatalities.

The numerous reports of detainee abuse, often supported by medical evidence, describe prisoners shackled, blindfolded and hung by wrists or ankles, and subjected to whipping, punching, kicking or electric shocks. Six reports end with a detainee's apparent death.
As recently as December the Americans were passed a video apparently showing Iraqi army officers executing a prisoner in Tal Afar, northern Iraq. The log states: "The footage shows approximately 12 Iraqi army soldiers. Ten IA soldiers were talking to one another while two soldiers held the detainee. The detainee had his hands bound … The footage shows the IA soldiers moving the detainee into the street, pushing him to the ground, punching him and shooting him."

The report named at least one perpetrator and was passed to coalition forces. But the logs reveal that the coalition has a formal policy of ignoring such allegations. They record "no investigation is necessary" and simply pass reports to the same Iraqi units implicated in the violence. By contrast all allegations involving coalition forces are subject to formal inquiries. Some cases of alleged abuse by UK and US troops are also detailed in the logs.

In two Iraqi cases postmortems revealed evidence of death by torture. On 27 August 2009 a US medical officer found "bruises and burns as well as visible injuries to the head, arm, torso, legs and neck" on the body of one man claimed by police to have killed himself. On 3 December 2008 another detainee, said by police to have died of "bad kidneys", was found to have "evidence of some type of unknown surgical procedure on [his] abdomen".

A Pentagon spokesman told the New York Times this week that under its procedure, when reports of Iraqi abuse were received the US military "notifies the responsible government of Iraq agency or ministry for investigation and follow-up".

The logs also illustrate the readiness of US forces to unleash lethal force. In one chilling incident they detail how an Apache helicopter gunship gunned down two men in February 2007.

The suspected insurgents had been trying to surrender but a lawyer back at base told the pilots: "You cannot surrender to an aircraft." The Apache, callsign Crazyhorse 18, was the same unit and helicopter based at Camp Taji outside Baghdad that later that year, in July, mistakenly killed two Reuters employees and wounded two children in the streets of Baghdad.

Iraq Body Count, the London-based group that monitors civilian casualties, says it has identified around 15,000 previously unknown civilian deaths from the data contained in the leaked war logs.

Although US generals have claimed their army does not carry out body counts and British ministers still say no official statistics exist, the war logs show these claims are untrue. The field reports purport to identify all civilian and insurgent casualties, as well as numbers of coalition forces wounded and killed in action. They give a total of more than 109,000 violent deaths from all causes between 2004 and the end of 2009.

This includes 66,081 civilians, 23,984 people classed as "enemy" and 15,196 members of the Iraqi security forces. Another 3,771 dead US and allied soldiers complete the body count.
No fewer than 31,780 of these deaths are attributed to improvised roadside bombs (IEDs) planted by insurgents. The other major recorded tally is of 34,814 victims of sectarian killings, recorded as murders in the logs.

However, the US figures appear to be unreliable in respect of civilian deaths caused by their own military activities. For example, in Falluja, the site of two major urban battles in 2004, no civilian deaths are recorded. Yet Iraq Body Count monitors identified more than 1,200 civilians who died during the fighting.

Phil Shiner, human rights specialist at Public Interest Lawyers, plans to use material from the logs in court to try to force the UK to hold a public inquiry into the unlawful killing of Iraqi civilians.

He also plans to sue the British government over its failure to stop the abuse and torture of detainees by Iraqi forces. The coalition's formal policy of not investigating such allegations is "simply not permissible", he says.

Shiner is already pursuing a series of legal actions for former detainees allegedly killed or tortured by British forces in Iraq.

WikiLeaks says it is posting online the entire set of 400,000 Iraq field reports – in defiance of the Pentagon.

The whistle blowing activists say they have deleted all names from the documents that might result in reprisals. They were accused by the US military of possibly having "blood on their hands" over the previous Afghan release by redacting too few names. But the military recently conceded that no harm had been identified.

Condemning this fresh leak, however, the Pentagon said: "This security breach could very well get our troops and those they are fighting with killed. Our enemies will mine this information looking for insights into how we operate, cultivate sources and react in combat situations, even the capability of our equipment."

Wikileaks Document Confirm Tom Fox Died For Our Sins

By Henry Porter (about the author)   Page 1 of 2 page(s)
For OpEdNews: Henry Porter - Writer

The latest Wikileaks documents reveal that over a thousand Iraqis were tortured and America turned a blind eye. We learned this years ago and turned a blind eye. Now we learn it again and America still turns a blind eye. I wish I could say I was shocked. But I'm not.

Almost five years ago I wrote "Christian Hostages, Death Squads, and Deja Vu".

In December, 2005, I wrote:

Christian Peacemaker members, including some of those who have been taken captive, had been investigating abuses at the hands of special police and military groups months before the Nov. 15 discovery of 173 detainees in the basement of an Interior Ministry building. American soldiers who liberated the prisoners said some appeared to have been tortured by their Iraqi government captors.

At the time I knew the quote was too kind. At the time I knew US trained Death Squads were active in Iraq. The 173 liberated hostages did not "appear to have been tortured" as the American press so delicately put it. The BBC was much more honest:

The return to torture and killing by the security forces is another embarrassment for the American and British governments.

The list compiled by Human Rights Watch includes beating detainees with cables, hanging them from their wrists for long periods and giving electric shocks to sensitive parts of the body.

From a video given to the BBC by the Association of Muslim Scholars (a Sunni Muslim organisation), it seems another particularly brutal form of torture can also be added - drilling into the knees, elbows and shoulders of victims.

When I wrote Tom Fox, Death Squads and the Dogs of War, and named names... again the call fell on deaf ears.

By 2006, Tom Fox was murdered and the crime scenes were sanitized. At that point it was safe to let the media report on this. Even then, they buried the story. I wrote We found one of the death squads. They're part of the police force.

and opened that piece by saying:

That quote used in the title is not some lefty peacenik talking. That is Major General Joseph Peterson. He heads the training of Iraqi police forces for the US Army.

I then went on to note this was important for the following reasons:
  1. This is the first official confirmation by the US of Death Squad activity in Iraq.
  1. Death Squad activity has been alleged for over a year now.
  1. The "Police Commando Units" you read about are Death Squads.
  1. Those "Police Commando Units" were trained by US and UK contractors with the full knowledge of John Negroponte and the Pentagon.
  1. The policy is colloquially known as "The Salvador Option"
  1. This story has been reported before, but every one of the reporters covering it was killed.*(UPDATED LINKS BELOW)
  1. This is why the Christian Peacemaker Team went to Iraq.
  1. This represents proof positive that the insurgents are not the only ones with competing factions.
  1. This marks a shift in US military strategy.
  1. The men who built these operations need to be brought to justice.
The last point was the most important. It never happened. America turned a blind eye. A few years later, David Petraeus, like Brutus, was labeled an honorable man. The truth was otherwise, but even Ted Westhusing's suicide note was not enough to convince a wilfully blind America.

Now the bodies are buried. The stories are buried. The Wikileaks documents have surfaced belatedly, like the bones of victims in a mass grave silently clawing their way towards the light. But the trail grows cold. And America still turns a blind eye.

The boxes, which included a number of different codes, were allowed to fall from a Puma helicopter flying over Baghdad in April 2006.

It is thought they fell through a set of doors which had been left open to give a serviceman operating the machine gun a clear view of the streets below.

Details of the incident were contained in a document entitled "compromised classified information", which was among hundreds of thousands to be published by whistle-blower website Wikileaks on Friday evening.

The official record, seen by The Guardian, states that the helicopter lost a number of documents including codes, aeronautical charts and a Baghdad security zone map.
Also among the papers lost were a Mission Fragmentary Order – details of how a planned mission has been changed – as well as "Ramrod codes" and "Tier I/II medical assets".

It concludes: "The only OPSEC counter measure that is being applied to this compromise is the changing of the codes, frequencies and other secret//rel data that was located on these documents."
