Questions And Assertions About The Bush Administration Experimenting On Prisoners Like Nazi Germany Have Spread Like Wild Fire Today.

Questions And Assertions About The Bush Administration Experimenting On Prisoners Like Nazi Germany Have Spread Like Wild Fire Today.

Did The Bush Administration Experiment On Detainees? Not only were terrorism suspects tortured, they were also used as human guinea pigs, a new report alleges. By Nick Baumann 06 Jun 2010 In the course of trying to prove that its "enhanced" interrogation program was legal, the Bush administration may have broken the law, according to a new report by Physicians for Human Rights. The watchdog group claims that in an attempt to establish that brutal interrogation tactics did not constitute torture, the administration ended up effectively experimenting on terrorism detainees prisoners. This research, PHR alleges, violated an array of regulations and treaties, including international guidelines on human testing put in place after the Holocaust.

Reject human experimentation: Demand accountability

Dear Ed.,

Please sign our letter to the attorney general today to demand accountability for human experimentation programs.

Across the history of the medical profession, no maxim has been more important than that to "do no harm." A recent report by Physicians for Human Rights has revealed that, beyond merely participating in torture--which has long been decried throughout the medical profession, as well as by religious leaders from across the spectrum of faiths--psychologists and other medical professionals working with government officials also engaged in human experimentation.

In the wake of Memorial Day, when we are called upon to honor the sacrifices of our nation's veterans, it is especially incumbent upon us to defend the legacy of WWII veterans, who fought--and died--to establish the international prohibition of torture.

It is not too late to demand that the attorney general comply with our nation's binding treaty commitments by investigating the decision-makers responsible for Bush-era human rights violations. Continuing to ignore our nation's recent past, by sweeping mounting evidence of torture under the rug, risks eroding the prohibition on torture and effectively inviting more in the future.

Please stand with us to defend the rule of law today, by adding your voice to our letter to the attorney general.

Sincerely,

Shahid Buttar

Dear NRCAT Supporters,

This morning NRCAT issued a press release commending Physicians for Human Rights on the publication of their report providing evidence that doctors employed by the CIA engaged in illegal and unethical medical experiments involving torture on detainees in U.S. custody following 9-11.

Ask Congress and the President to investigate these allegations.

Just as we have opposed and spoken out against U.S.-sponsored torture, we now condemn these alleged acts of illegal and immoral experimentation. Separate and distinct from the torture, such medical experiments could themselves constitute war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity.

These revelations give new urgency to NRCAT's call for the establishment of a
Commission of Inquiry to undertake a comprehensive investigation into our nation's use of torture - including its use in medical experiments. We need a full picture of our nation's torture practices to make sure that torture never happens again.

Please send an email TODAY to your Representative, both Senators and the President asking for the creation of a Commission of Inquiry.

NRCAT also collaborated with some of our partner groups to issue press releases in 10 states across the country, providing local contacts for religious leaders prepared to respond to the report.

On Tuesday morning, NRCAT will organize a national press conference with religious leaders of various faiths speaking directly to the media.

And finally, NRCAT has released a new video that features PHR's allegations as one more important reason why we need a Commission of Inquiry. You will receive more information about the video later today, but you can watch it now at
www.nrcat.org/act.

This will be a busy and important week. Let us continue to work and pray together to end U.S.-sponsored torture forever.

Sincerely,

Linda Gustitus, President

CYA for the CIA: The CIA's Torture Research Program
A new report of which I am a coauthor, Experiments in Torture, just released by Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) confirms previous suspicions and provides the first strong evidence that the CIA was indeed engaged in illegal and unethical research on detainees in its custody.

This lady from Scotland supports a full investigation by President Obama and his legal team into the alleged experimentation and torture of prisoners held by American forces overseas. This would apply also to UK forces. America has to lead the world in this otherwise your great country will be classed as being no different from Saddam Hussein. Act quickly please before this gets out of hand and you are branded as being the same. Also by acting quickly you will help to protect your military overseas who do no wrong. They need your support - they risk their lives for their country now let their country stand up for them. Deal with those at the top who gave the orders for any of this to happen - that is where you have to start.
