The ICC Is A Compromised Body, It’s Still All About Oil And An Orwellian USA Is Taking Form!

"No country on earth has a less responsible government and a less accountable government than the Americans.  However, Americans will defend their own oppression, and that of the world, to the bitter end.”

China: The New Bin Laden

By Paul Craig Roberts
May 11, 2011 "Information Clearing House-- George Orwell, the pen name by which Eric Blair is known, had the gift of prophecy, or else blind luck.  In 1949 in his novel, 1984, he described the America of today and, I fear, also his native Great Britain, which is no longer great and follows Washington, licking the jackboot and submitting to Washington’s hegemony over England and Europe and exhausting itself financially and morally in order to support American hegemony over the rest of the world.
In Orwell’s prophecy, Big Brother’s government rules over unquestioning people, incapable of independent thought, who are constantly spied upon.  In 1949 there was no Internet, Facebook, twitter, GPS,  etc.  Big Brother’s spying was done through cameras and microphones in public areas, as in England today, and through television equipped with surveillance devices in homes.  As everyone thought what the government intended for them to think, it was easy to identify the few who had suspicions.

Fear and war were used to keep everyone in line, but not even Orwell anticipated Homeland Security feeling up the genitals of air travelers and shopping center customers.  Every day in people’s lives, there came over the TV the Two Minutes of Hate.  An image of Emmanuel Goldstein, a propaganda creation of the Ministry of Truth, who is designated as Oceania’s Number One Enemy, appeared on the screen. Goldstein was the non-existent “enemy of the state” whose non-existent organization, “The Brotherhood,” was Oceania’s terrorist enemy.  The Goldstein Threat justified the  “Homeland Security” that violated all known Rights of Englishmen and kept Oceania’s subjects “safe.”

Since 9/11, with some diversions into Sheik Mohammed and Mohamed Atta, the two rivals to bin Laden as the “Mastermind of 9/11,” Osama bin Laden has played the 21st century roll of Emmanuel Goldstein.  Now that the Obama Regime has announced the murder of the modern-day Goldstein, a new demon must be constructed before Oceania’s wars run out of justifications.

Hillary Clinton, the low-grade moron who is US Secretary of State, is busy at work making China the new enemy of Oceania.

China is America’s largest creditor, but this did not inhibit the idiot Hilary from, this week in front of high Chinese officials, denouncing China for “human rights violations” and for the absence of democracy.

While Hilary was enjoying her rant and displaying unspeakable American hypocrisy, Homeland Security thugs had organized local police and sheriffs in a small town that is the home of Western Illinois University and set upon peaceful students who were enjoying their annual street party.

There was no rioting, no property damage, but the riot police or Homeland Security SWAT teams showed up with sound cannons, gassed the students and beat them.

Indeed, if anyone pays any attention to what is happening in America today, a militarized police and Homeland Security are destroying constitutional rights of peaceful assembly, protest, and free speech.

For practical purposes, the U.S. Constitution no longer exists. The police can beat, taser, abuse, and falsely arrest American citizens and experience no adverse consequences.

The executive branch of the federal government, to whom we used to look to protect us from abuses at the state and local level, acquired the right under the Bush regime to ignore both US and international law, along with the US Constitution and the constitutional powers of Congress and the judiciary.  As long as there is a “state of war,” such as the open-ended “war on terror,” the executive branch is higher than the law and is unaccountable to law.  America is not a democracy, but a country ruled by an executive branch Caesar.

Hillary, of course, like the rest of the U.S. Government, is scared by the recent International Monetary Fund (IMF) report that China will be the most powerful economy in five years.

Just as the military/security complex pressured President John F. Kennedy to start a war with the Soviet Union over the Cuban missile crisis while the US still had the nuclear advantage, Hillary is now moving China into the role of Emmanuel Goldstein. Hate has to be mobilized, before Washington can move the ignorant patriotic masses to war.

How can Oceania continue if the declared enemy, Osama bin Laden, is dead.  Big Brother must immediately invent another “enemy of the people.”

But Hillary, being a total idiot, has chosen a country that has other than military weapons.  While the Americans support “dissidents” in China, who are sufficiently stupid to believe that democracy exists in America, the insulted Chinese government sits on $2 trillion in US dollar-denominated assets that can be dumped, thus destroying the US dollar’s exchange value and the dollar as reserve currency, the main source of US power.

Hillary, in an unprecedented act of hypocrisy, denounced China for “human rights violations.”  This from a country that has violated the human rights of millions of victims in our own time in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, secret CIA prisons dotted all over the planet, in US courts of law, and in the arrests and seizure of documents of American war protestors.  There is no worst violator of human rights on the planet than the US government, and the world knows it.

The hubris and arrogance of US policymakers, and the lies that they inculcate in the American public, have exposed Washington to war with the most populous country on earth, a country that has a military alliance with Russia, which has sufficient nuclear weapons to wipe out all life on earth.  The scared idiots in Washington are desperate to set up China as the new Osama bin Laden, the figure of two minutes of hate every news hour, so that the World’s Only Superpower can take out the Chinese before they surpass the US as the Number One Power.

No country on earth has a less responsible government and a less accountable government than the Americans.  However, Americans will defend their own oppression, and that of the world, to the bitter end.

The ICC Compromised?

Details Emerge of America's Secret Oil War with Russia
U.S. diplomats scored a silent victory last month when the Italian oil company Eni and Russian energy giant Gazprom postponed a deal to share a large claim to Libyan oil. The State Department can't take credit, however, as the two companies based their decision to shelve the arrangement was based on the violence in the region. But it's all part of a bigger plan to keep access to oil out of Russia's paws, reports McClatchy's Kevin G. Hall based on a recent release of WikiLeaks cables. Gazprom, once a part of the Soviet Union's gas ministry, has been busy buying up oil and gas reserves across Europe and the Middle East. In 2008, the state-run company even attempted to buy all of Libya's natural gas and oil. Since then, United States diplomats discussed how prevent Libyan oil from making its way to Russia in the Eni-Gazprom deal.
Russia's role in the battle over energy resources is growing increasingly tense. Another set of WikiLeaks cables reveals the United States and allies are fighting an increasingly fierce battle over oil and gas in the Arctic. There's even been mounting discussion about the danger of an armed conflict breaking out, according to a report in The Guardian:
"Instead of seeing the melting of the Arctic ice cap as a spur to action on climate change, the leaders of the Arctic nations are instead investing in military hardware to fight for the oil beneath it. They're preparing to fight to extract the very fossil fuels that caused the melting in the first place. It's like pouring gasoline on a fire…"
There is also concern that Russia may be maneuvering to claim ownership over huge areas of the Arctic, with one senior Moscow source alleging that a Russian explorer's submarine expedition to plant a flag on the seabed beneath the North Pole was ordered by Vladimir Putin's United Russia party.
Officials have downplayed the idea of calling the Nato allies' quiet conflict with Russia and others over oil a "new cold war," but journalists are scurrying to coin the term.

·         Wikileaks Cables Show Oil A Major Focus Of U.S. Diplomats, Kevin G. Hall, McClatchy

The US Government Has Signaled A New Determination To Assert Its Role In Arctic Oil and gas exploration by sending secretary of state Hillary Clinton and other ministers to a summit of the region's powers for the first time.

Clinton and the US secretary of the interior, Ken Salazar, were both at the biennial meeting in the Greenland capital of Nuuk amid fears by environmentalists of a "carve up" of Arctic resources that could savage a pristine environment.
The political maneuvers came as Britain's Cairn Energy prepares to drill for oil off Greenland while Shell applies to explore for oil off Alaska and BP has done a deal to explore the Russian Arctic. They also came as cables were released by WikiLeaks showing American diplomats talking about the need to assert US influence over political and economic competitors such as China.
The WikiLeaks site published a dispatch from 2007 - numbered 12958 - detailing a conversation between US diplomats and the then Danish foreign minister, Per Stig Møller, in which they discuss delays in US ratification of a key maritime convention. "If you stay out," Møller is quoted as telling the Americans, "then the rest of us will have more to carve up in the Arctic."
Another cable details the lengths to which the US has been going to influence Greenland. "Our intensified outreach to the Greenlanders will encourage them to resist any false choice between the United States and Europe. It will also strengthen our relationship with Greenland vis-a-vis the Chinese, who have shown increasing interest in Greenland's natural resource," a US diplomat is said to have written.
Excitement about the commercial potential of the Arctic has escalated as ice has retreated, making access to oil, gold and uranium easier at a time when commodity prices have rocketed. The US Geological Survey reported in 2008 that up to a quarter of the world's remaining reserves may lie under a melting ice cap.
Renewed interest by oil and mining companies has been accompanied by growing political and military activity but all the big states in the area, such as the US and Russia, have played down in public any speculation about a new cold war.

Greenpeace oil campaigner Ben Ayliffe said the latest revelations were extremely disturbing. "Instead of seeing the melting of the Arctic ice cap as a spur to action on climate change, the leaders of the Arctic nations are instead investing in military hardware to fight for the oil beneath it. They're preparing to fight to extract the very fossil fuels that caused the melting in the first place. It's like pouring gasoline on a fire."

The WikiLeaks cables show how the scramble for resources in the Arctic is heightening military tension in the region, with Nato sources worried about the potential for armed conflict with Russia.

There is also concern that Russia may be manoeuvring to claim ownership over huge areas of the Arctic, with one senior Moscow source alleging that a Russian explorer's submarine expedition to plant a flag on the seabed beneath the North Pole was ordered by Vladimir Putin's United Russia party.

Canadian leaders have privately expressed disquiet over Nato's mooted plans to use military force in the Arctic in the face of perceived Russian aggression.
The recently re-elected Canadian prime minister, Stephen Harper, is quoted by diplomats as saying that a Nato presence in the region would give non-Arctic members of the alliance too much influence in an area where "they don't belong".

The race for new resources has also worried indigenous people. Jimmy Stotts, president of the Inuit Circumpolar Council in Alaska, said he was not opposed to oil exploration as long as it was done safely. "We're not convinced, at least in Alaska, that it's sustainable so far, despite statements that are made by government or industry or others," Stotts said. "We're still waiting for somebody to prove to us that they can clean up an oil spill in the Arctic Ocean."

Despite the scaled-back coverage of the Fukushima crisis (both domestically, and internationally), last week was actually quite eventful, with three significant developments.
Meltdown Confirmed

Workers at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant confirmed the meltdown of a ‘large part’ of the fuel in reactor number one. Their suspicions were aroused after a post-adjustment reading on water level gauges came back lower than expected. Fortunately, water in a reservoir at the bottom of the pressure vessel seems to have halted the meltdown. The situation remains precarious though, as the further meltdown of the fuel—past the pressure vessel and through the concrete base—remains highly possible.

What’s perhaps surprising is that this information was even released in the first place. Considering the delay between this official announcement and what people have purportedly known for weeks, the release of this information won’t help TEPCO's public image at all.
Entombment Planned?

In response to the continued release of radioactive materials into the atmosphere, TEPCO may soon erect steel scaffolding and cover the reactors buildings with giant polyester covers. The first reactor to be covered will be reactor number one, with similar units being installed over reactors three and four. Although not as complex as the concrete sarcophagus surrounding Chernobyl, the polyester ‘tents’ will still take some time to finish, with completion projected for the end of the year.

Given the fact that explosions have already dispersed debris and radioactive materials around the plant, this measure could be too little too late, though. Some commentators continue to push for full concrete entombment, and even the construction of a trench filled with zeolite to mitigate contamination of the groundwater beneath the plant. The fact that reactor three used MOX fuel has prompted a Russian Chernobyl expert to even assert that ‘(the) release of plutonium will contaminate that area forever and…is impossible to clean up.’ The worst may already have happened.

Worker at Fukushima Dies

The man, a contract worker in his 60s, was carrying equipment when he collapsed. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital. This isn’t the first death at the plant—two workers were found dead last month, trapped in a turbine room when the tsunami struck. But unlike the two priors, TEPCO said it doesn’t know the cause of the contract worker's death. Although they indicated that the man wore protective gear and a second worker nearby suffered no ill-effects, TEPCO's announcement has nonetheless opened the floodgates of speculation.

Clearly, TEPCO is trying to avoid concluding that radiation was the smoking gun here to avoid triggering undue panic. And admittedly, being in his 60s, the contract worker's death may quite plausibly be explained away by other factors. Still, the untimely and cryptic nature of TEPCO and government press releases, reports of slipping safety standards, ongoing radioactive leaks at the plant, and now this worker's death should all be a reminder that there’s no room for complacency. The nuclear crisis has been pushed aside by other news, but the crisis isn’t over yet.
